Having just landed a slot at this year’s Bloodstock Open Air Festival, playing on the Sophie Lancaster stage, and working on their first full length album due 2015, Silas are fast rising in the UK. Rooted in rock and metal, their sound is a fusion of genres; you will hear infectious hard rock grooves and punishing metal carnage suddenly explode into funk or flow into a jazz progression and an other-worldly guitar solo. As well as citing inspiration from bands such as Pantera, Gojira, Kamchatka and the works of Devin Townsend, they draw strong influence from all the music they hear - whether it be blues, jazz, soul or classical. Live, Silas are not to be missed; twin brothers Tom and Mike Ross switch roles between drums and guitar, sharing a unique chemistry with the rhythm section’s thundering back bone, bassist Matt Drumm. Combined with front man Dave Runham’s highly diverse vocal style and honest, fun-loving charisma, every show is bursting at the seams with high energy and positive vibes. Formed in mid 2008 via a chance meeting at a raging house party, the band quickly became known in the surrounding areas of London for their diversity, and especially for the ‘swap’ trick between guitar and drums - often confusing to punters due to the genetic similarities between the Ross twins! Since playing at Bloodstock Open Air festival back in 2010 on the New Blood stage, Silas have continued to build a loyal fan base of open minded music lovers across the UK, and with an EP and mini-album under their belts, Silas are currently getting ready to record the debut album whilst continuing to perform live throughout 2015.

Their second performance at BOA promises to be an exciting one! Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
