Beginning at the age of 6, Shweta studied vocal music & specialized in Prabandh and the north Indian classical vocal forms like Khayal, Tappa, Thumri, Dhrupad, Dhamar under the guidance of late Pt.Vilasrao Khandekar in Ahmedabad-India, with a special aptitude in the Khayãl form. Shweta further studied from the world renowned vocalist Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasrajji. Born to a surgeon father & literary mother, she grew up in a highly cultured environment. She holds a bachelor's in literature and has also composed music since her age of 10.

Shweta is a recipient of the Indian & Western honors since her 20s, including the Netragaonkar Award-Pune India,Pandit Jasraj Gaurav Puraskar-Pune, SpicMacay merit certificate, Indian American Chamber's award- CA usa, American Society's appreciation for classical & world music lyrics- NY usa, The Gujarat State academy award-India in 2007 & the Grass Roots international award from Nashville usa in 2009 for Indian classical vocal music.
