"I think part of the reason people disagree about what is good music is that they listen to it for different reasons or purposes. For me, listening to and making music isn’t mostly about clever wordplay or technical virtuosity. It’s usually about providing a certain kind of experience. Or maybe it’s just kind of like feeling like your brain’s been microwaved a little bit." - gn0m0n Gn0m0n has made music for years but never settled into any one genre. Most of the music posted under this pseudonym is from the electronic end of the spectrum but some "indie"-type guitar music or other styles show up now and then, too. Too restless and hungry for new sonic experiences to settle into one genre, his music is sometimes melancholic, sometimes ecstatic, sometimes abrasive, sometimes played on acoustic guitar and sometimes sounding like an alien spaceship malfunctioning. And yet a consistent style permeates his music- moody, thick, and relentlessly groovy. Some of the music gn0m0n has cited include Kid606, Matmos, LCD Soundsystem, My Bloody Valentine, Sonic Youth, Lamb, Aphex Twin, Lemon Jelly, dubstep, Detroit and minimal techno, MIA, The XX, and much more.
