Starting in late 2010, Furfur is the brainchild of two obnoxiously artsy and sufficiently cynical twenty-something’s. Originally from Denton Texas, Simone Carter and Cody Lyson moved to Los Angeles in seek of new opportunities. Following in the footsteps of bands such as Radiohead, My Bloody Valentine, BRMC, and UNKLE; finding new inspiration away from the tired rock format in artists such as DJ Shadow, Flying Lotus, and The Gaslamp Killer; Furfur began the recording process of what would be their first release. On March 27th, 2011 Furfur released the Apocalyptic Pilgrim EP.

A beautiful blend of dirty post-punk guitars, smoke-laced bass lines, soul piercing beats, layer upon layer of rich harmonies, all topped off with cynical and questioning lyrics; Furfur has given a glimpse into an ongoing experiment. Furfur marches on with that avant-garde spirit, continuing to create music that pushes the envelope. Choosing to be reclusive, Furfur at this time does not play live shows. Instead they choose to bask in the warm glow of computer screens, hide in cigarette smoke, and drown in coffee.
