This brought them into contact with several talented local artists. Through the local contacts, no completed songs where produced as in many ways the locals held back, resulting in unfinished work. This motivated Dave Redi to take matters into his own hands and in 2003 he began looking into the art of beat creating. This led to independence and further more led to the decision of making music and taking it to a more serious level. In 2006 they released and album in collaboration with Eka and Sim-One as the One Dunz, the album was known as Nice2MeetU.
It was the first serious project that Dave Redi and Mr. Ramble had worked on. The release of this project ensured more live performances, stage experience and exposure. However, due to complications within the group, Dave and Ramble decided to move further as a two man crew.
In 2008 Dave Redi teamed up with a producer by the name of Jeejaa from Arnhem. Together they produced and released Dave’s first solo debut Moods with featured single “Mood Swings”. This album included features from Gaknew Roxwell (Los Angeles, California) and Eric Lamont (Maryland, U.S.A). In August 2009, Dave Redi and Mr. Ramble decided to re-establish them selves and focus on a new album.
Hence, the Front Porch Poets was born and their debut album For The Record was released. For The Record has a 1990’s feel to it, and this is exactly what they had aimed for. The album is produced by Dave Redi and Jeejaa and Mr. Ramble took care of the DJ cuts.
There are also a few interesting features on the album which include 7even:Thirty (Dallas, Texas U.S.A.), MO of the BUMS (Raleigh, North Carolina U.S.A) and Cedric Salah (Arnhem, NL).
