Enjoy the best new and old music from these lesser-known gothic sub-genres as well as special features such as “News of the Apocalypse” and concert calendar updates. On WordPress: http://auralapocalypse.wordpress.com/ On PodOmatic: http://auralapocalypse.podomatic.com/ Born and raised in the SF Bay Area, DJ Merrick was a member of several area gothic bands in the late 1980's. She went on to work in radio as a DJ at KSJS from 1989 to 1991. Since graduating from San Jose State University with a degree in Radio, TV, and Film, she's been involved with several local clubs and has promoted numerous live shows. A Death Guild regular since the early days at the Trocadero, she has been DJing there since 2004. Merrick balances things out upstairs with Mitch's more aggressive industrial sets; she plays mostly Ethereal, Gothic B-Sides, and from a vast repertiore of lesser-known "dark" sub-genres: neo-folk, dark ambient, militant, medieval, and neo-classical, to name a handful. DJ Merrick's podcast, Aural Apocalypse, ended in January 2014.
