featured on Triple J Unearthed last week at an awesome #5... Charity’s Aussie accent and breathy voice is accompanied by a guitar riff and melody that is easy to get into and pushes forth a feeling of familiarity...this song definitely has the potential to be an ARIA smash hit... Charity’s voice is expertly raw and her strong song writing skills are evident in what could be described as an honest and enchanting recording of life, love and what lies beyond... I am really excited about what hopefully follows for this talented and ambitious singer/songwriter." CD Review: 8/10.

Full article here http://theaureview.com/albums/our-secrets-ep ABOUT CHARITY At 26 yo and with a desire to take her music career all the way to the top, Charity Turner is an up-and-coming musician that you shouldn’t skim over! She is the youngest of five siblings, born to Minister parents in Sydney and she has a great love for music. She began singing and playing the drums at an early age and under the guidance of Billy Hyde’s Drum Academy she has became a skilled drummer, regularly placing in national drum-offs. “I've always loved the creative fusion of music and lyrics, and connecting with people through this is what makes me happy,” says Charity.
“Singing makes me feel free, yet on the other hand exposed. Playing music makes me feel many things, after all it’s an expression of yourself and how you feel,” she says. After school Charity wanted a ‘sea change’ so she packed her life’s belongings (1 suitcase + guitar) and relocated to Broome, one of Australia’s most beautiful, yet remote, townships. Charity developed her own style of music featuring catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics and a unique way of ‘rhythmically’ playing her guitar – influenced by all those years behind the drum kit.
“When I got off the plane in Broome, I was thrown into complete sensory overload. The air’s thick and humid, the breeze smells like saltwater and frangipanis, the town is so multicultural and it’s really unlike anywhere else in Australia. It's paradise, and every day tends to melt into the next,” says Charity. At 26 years of age, Charity’s journey has brought her back to the east coast to promote her debut EP "Our Secrets", produced by acclaimed pianist Dave Higgins.
“I felt that if I wanted to pursue my musical dream I needed to return to Sydney. Run Away, the opening song on my EP, is about escaping to a special place, and for me, that’s Broome.” Read more on Last.fm.
