I immediately started loading up the PC with Fruity Loops and other apps until I got a hang of things. At some point I taught myself Reason, Cubase SX, Ableton Live and Logic and today I only work with the latter two. For the first few years of my journey through various software, I was producing what I guess would be considered progressive techno/house over to straight up techno. At some point I went more in the direction of house and deep house and those are some of my favorite music styles.
During this time I was living in Upstate New York, completely cut off from anything you would consider a 'scene'. My only connection to what was going on in the world was the internet, and I started my own irc channel many years ago to keep i contact with my international fellow audiophiles. I was fortunate enough to run across some very talented people that used to hide out in various channels. Mr Livewire is one of these people, who I keep contact with on a daily basis to this day.
When I completed my stay in NY, I moved down to South Florida, also based on some connections I made over the internet. I linked up with some extremely talented and proactively people, and I believe it was the environment and influences around me that drove me to start messing around with more broken beats, than the regular 4/4 I was used to. It took me a while to get used to the nuances of breaks, however I believe I've arrived at a point where I can say that I have a solid foundation in this genre. My tracks range from massive big beat with aggressive basslines, to minimalistic earthy electro songs, with each track following my main prerogative, which is that it has to be danceable. Drop me a line if you like what you hear, I'm always open to constructive criticism, disses and whatever else you think you need to throw at me.
