"Zoios is an attempt at something wonderful, albeit pretentious." Although the word "pretentious" often carries a derogatory connotation, amateur composer/producer Daniel Kerst (aka BrimstoneVomit) would argue that "If art, literature and music can't be boastful and gratuitously exaggerated, what fun would it be?" Zoios was birthed August of 2005 in an emptied bedroom in Hudson Falls, New York in USA, shortly thereafter moved farther North into the Adirondacks. Essentially wherever Daniel's computer went, Zoios went. Beginning with charmingly primitive works falling into an unrealized album concept called "Demon Machine," musical direction shifted from cheesy minimalist ambiance and industrial to a more focused, organically-inspired electronic music. Gaining an increasingly firmer grasp on production techniques and more powerful, dynamic generators, album concepts "Fishing for Fire" (Dec 2008) and "Refuge in the Void" (April 2009) were pursued to musical completion, doing little to hide Daniel's love of piano, bass guitar, electronic drumbeats and orchestral arrangements. Although two album concepts are completed musically, nothing is formally released. As a stroke of ambition, no official releases will occur until visual artists and authors donate their time to filling the albums with art and poetry/short stories to encompass the three major walks of art: Visual, Audio and Literary.

When an album is deemed complete under that premise, it will be released electronically, free of charge, including contributors' attribution and licensing. Until then, Zoios is still content being a hobby, so long as it's heard. Read more on Last.fm.
