A member of the Sagkeeng First Nation in Manitoba, his second album, entitled 10x10 was recently voted Best New Local CD by Winnipeg readers of Uptown Magazine. Young Kidd started making music in Winnipeg’s central district in early 2005. His experiences there coupled with his entrepreneurial spirit resulted in the foundation of CTL Records, which the emcee used to release his I Go Hard and 10x10 discs. With respect to inspiration, The Uniter (August 19, 2009) states, “instead of embarking on the path towards career criminality, Young Kidd taps such unsavory realities for musical inspiration.” Young Kidd is currently pushing his 10x10 album to radio. “Hometown,” “Riders feat Kobe,” and “Real Slow” have climbed the Streetz FM chart since being released, with the last two hitting the top spot.

He released a music video for “Hometown” on January 23, 2010 and it’s picked up 135,000 views on YouTube to date. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
