Vocalist, Lynch contacted the bands ex-drummer, Cat Gomez for a revamp. Gomez agreed to fill in Brett's gap for the show as guitarist. Shortly after, there was the inclusion of a new bassist, in the form of Mr. Adam Rocca.
In a matter of less than 30 hours, Lynch, Gomez and Rocca, fought through to rehearse four tracks to the best of their abilities. ~ The First Gig ~ Yogi Locks' Very 1st Gig Was On Saturday 27th of March 2010 in the event "GORDO + YOGI LOCKS" @ the Rock on the Rock Club :) For this first gig, the bands bassist, Sam Kleinot was replaced with Mr. Joe Short. The night saw performances which varied from acoustic numbers to upbeat ones. The setlist started off with an acoustic version of "Last Request" (Paolo Nutini). This was followed by a Yogi Locks original entitled, "I Love the Way I Can Make You Smile" a track written by guitarist, Sam Brett & His sister, Maddi.
This was followed by the upbeats, starting off with a version of Guns N Roses "Sweet Child 'o Mine" The 4th track was the mighty "You've Got the Love" recently made popular by Florence + the Machine (originally by Candi Staton) the cover of this track was said to be Yogi Lock's best of the lot :).. The next track followed was a soulful/pop-rock version of "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing" (Jack Johnson). The night ended with a rendition of Muse's "Time Is Running Out" ~ The Second Gig ~ On Friday3rd of December 2010, Yogi Locks returned In the GBC Open day event, "BASH X (PART 1)" @ the local "Rock On The Rock Club" Yogi Locks vocalist, Keiron Lynch had originally prepared a gig with original guitarist, Sam Brett. However, Brett pulled out.
Soon after, Cat Gomez (original drummer) was brought into the scene as the new guitarist, as well as the inclusion of a new bassist, Adam Rocca. So the day was saved! For this second gig, Lynch decided to sit firmly on a high stool throughout most of the performing. The setlist commenced with Yogi Locks' best track performed on the first gig, "You've Got The Love" made quite popular by Florence + the Machine. Once again, it went down quite well with the crowd.
Following that was a cover of recent pop hit "Airplanes" by B.O.B. feat. Hayley Williams. The third track of the night was a melodrmamatic version of Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" The evening ended with a powerful version of the Cranberries hit "Zombie" which saw Lynch arrise from the stool & walk around the stage towards the bridge of the song. After the second gig, Yogi Locks disbanded.
However, the band consider all their opportunies as a stepping stone, an experience, a lesson learned, a strive for perfection. That final gig proved to be more of a hit than the first one, therefore Yogi Locks' mission was accomplished :-) As of 2011, ex vocalist, Keiron Lynch and ex guitarist, Cat Gomez, have since been working hard on a new project. The duo have cooked up a heap of original material, and rest assured a potential third gig under a new band name will see the light of day! :-) Watch this space... http://www.facebook.com/pages/Yogi-Locks/417212760155 (Facebook 'Like' Fanpage) http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=196726694009 (Facebook 'Group' Fanpage) http://www.myspace.com/yogilocks (MySpace) http://www.twitter.com/yogilocks (Twitter) Read more on Last.fm.
