Bassist Wes Cook played in All State Champion, while singer-guitarist Richard Fudalewski and drummer Kyle Ledingham are members of Jakartah. Together, the three make rock music that's characterized by jagged rhythms and soaring vocal melodies backed by impressive harmonies. The band (aided here by producer Greg Dawson) is skilled at keeping the overall sound relatively spacious even while hammering away at heavy riffs, as it does on the closing track, “Afghan and His Rifle”, which pounds to its climax with some seriously tight drumming.
