Workgroup 3.1

Workgroup 3.1 was created in Germany in late 1986 by Elvis Skywalker. Then known only as "Assmask" (a name given to him by KMFDM's Sascha Konietzko...he operated a small gasmask factory at the time), Skywalker and his band toured much of Europe, playing their unique brand of electro-industrial-thrash-disco. After a hazardous waste accident at his factory, Skywalker moved to Japan, where he formed a new band, Gasmask. The band known as Gasmask released 3 albums, available exclusively in Japan, as well as numerous singles. Read more on Last.fm
The self-titled song "Gasmask" became a Top-235346457 hit on the Japanese charts.

During this time, Skywalker met current Workgroup 3.1 keyboardist Jenga Master Deadsun. Deadsun contributed to the final Gasmask album before the band split up. Skywalker and Deadsun moved to Belgium and became special agents for the Belgian Army. More recently, Skywalker has moved to the US. He met Sand Cloud guitarist Dan Grimes while performing with Sand Cloud's opening band.

Later, they would work together producing Big C's "Rings of the Schwartz." Skywalker and Grimes had plans of starting a thrash-IDM-emo-rockabilly-ska-core band later that year, but it never materialized. A year later, Skywalker and former Ministry drummer Sexy James re-formed Workgroup 3.1. Deadsun returned to the US and was added to the lineup as keyboardist. Grimes joined soon after as the band's guitarist.

Workgroup 3.1 are currently working on their new album, "Service Pack". Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
