This Los Angeles rock band’s debut EP will appeal to a broad range of modern rock fans. Fiery and raw, the four tracks - expertly mixed by Brett Eliason (Pearl Jam, My Chemical Romance, System Of A Down, Dave Matthews, R.E.M.) and mastered by Joe Gastwirt (The Used, Metric, 311) - were self-produced and recorded in the band’s own downtown rehearsal studio, “Alpha Echo,” where they were able to channel the collective energy of their connections Read more on Last.fm
This Los Angeles rock band’s debut EP will appeal to a broad range of modern rock fans. Fiery and raw, the four tracks - expertly mixed by Brett Eliason (Pearl Jam, My Chemical Romance, System Of A Down, Dave Matthews, R.E.M.) and mastered by Joe Gastwirt (The Used, Metric, 311) - were self-produced and recorded in the band’s own downtown rehearsal studio, “Alpha Echo,” where they were able to channel the collective energy of their connections to one another in their arena-rock sanctuary and capture an intimate yet powerfully passionate representation of themselves as a live rock band. WINGS LIKE WEAPONS made a point of taking its time with the writing process on this release, sharing rough versions of the songs along the way with fellow artists and musicians, who immediately became interested in collaborating. The band is joined on the bonus version of Sometimes I’m Alive by Asian pop icon Van Ness Wu and by Panamanian rocker Evan Rodaniche (Cage9, Powerman 5000) on the autobiographical charger Down (With The Sound). Guitar-rock aficionados will love the stripped-down crush of IX Of Apollo. Best listened-to LOUD.
