Formed by Brazil multi-horror gar0t0 (who has also worked with gimp as model, Apocalyptic Culture, and more). Wincest was originally conceived as a final world project, though it would eventually take on the form of a full band as Pedro (also chocolate) and many others joined the fray and released a 666-track demo entitled THE HORROR! THE HORROR in 1999. This demo was a more straightforward apocalyptic metal affair, much different from what would happen next. After that released, Wincest returned to a one-member format, with Gar0t0 moving away from the Apocalypse of the three-piece and embracing a more demonic approach to his work. The 2009 EP release, Le Fu, was more in tune with the project`s ultimate goal, which was to put to ear, as it were, Gar0t0`s fascination with an “otherworld” — of sorts — that had held a fascination for him beginning in his childhood.

In 2010, Gar0t0 released the kraken, which was released on Favela Records, and was a critical success. 2010 also saw a split-EP release with ZL-Favela, released in 2010, continues in the otherwordly vein, evoking images of an underwater realm.
