When Knives Go Skyward

When Knives Go Skyward was first created by members Chad Kapper and Josh Travis (former members of defunct well-known St. Louis bands Ninetrigger and Rules For Ransom as a side project in the summer of 2003. Once Kapper's harsh/rough vocal style was thrown over the top of it, both guys knew they had something fresh and different. They realized they had something more than a side project on their hands. WKGS then became their main focus and they began their hunt for a complete band. After years of continuous writing and recording of demos, the two came across Casey Bourisaw, he jammed with band for around two years before the band decided it was best to part ways.

In December of 2005 bassist Brian Sankus emailed Josh, they talked for awhile, so Josh decided to have him come over and try out, after the jamming between just the two of them, Josh immediately brought him aboard. Josh quotes, " these days anyone and everyone is in a band, but without that chemistry, your just another run of the mill band, thats why i had to have Brian as my other half, he pushes me to the limit everytime we play, practice or live, dare i say, it just feels right ?!?!? " A few months earlier in 2005, they came across drummer Brad Sexton (ex-Dressed For A Funeral). They had found their last piece to the puzzle. Sexton's talent behind the kit will never go unnoticed.

The energy he brings to the fold is complete chaos. They were later discovered by Bob Meadows (vocalist of A Life Once Lost) around the summer 2005 through an anonymous website. He immediately took them under his wing and is currently managing them. This band was born and bred from day one and the chemistry they have together is indescribable.
