However, after spending the summer of 2002 in Malibu and Hollywood working on their debut album with producer Brad Wood (Sunny Day Real Estate, Liz Phair, Smashing Pumpkins, Pete Yorn), left Pencey broke up. While this event was a disappointment to many involved, a "silver lining" soon became evident as Walkers Line came together, incorporating the obvious lessons learned with the added drive that comes from desires so nearly fulfilled. As quickly as left Pencey dissolved, Walkers Line formed, rapidly generating a large catalogue of songs from their hometown of Burlington, Ontario. Drawing on influences such as Coldplay, Third Eye Blind, and Oasis, Walkers Line create an attractive soundscape full of memorable hooks and airs, which are amplified by solid songwriting.
Though most of their time since inception has been spent writing and rehearsing, the members of Walkers Line are no strangers to the stage. The group's combined experience includes national tours with Wide Mouth Mason and Big Wreck, opening dates with Puddle of Mudd, Matthew Good, Bif Naked, Treble Charger, I Mother Earth, The Tea Party, Moist, and Collective Soul, and literally dozens of industry showcases.
