Vomica is an international punk rock project formed in the year 2002. Two of the members, Toshi Saizaki (vocals) and Ryoichi Harada (guitar) traveled from Japan to San Francisco to study and work. Sean Mou-Keefe (drums) and Wade Jones (bass) ended up in S.F. after finishing tours with the bands that they were members of. Toshi, Ryo, Sean and Wade met in 2001 and one year later put together the band Vomica with the sole purpose of playing a single event in San Francisco, The Clarion Alley Block Party. The C.A.B.P. is an annual event that features bands, DJs and street artists local to San Francisco’s Mission district. Vomica was an instant hit and it was obvious that the band had something special that was worth pursuing. It has been 5 years now and Vomica has grown creatively with a set of original music that exceeds thirty songs. Vomica recently recorded their debut album self titled “VOMICA”, featuring 13 hard rocking originals and 2 cover songs. (for sale at cdbaby.com). Vomica is now promoting their first album with a string of performances in the Bay area at such clubs as The Bottom of the Hill, Slims and the Oakland Metro, to name a few. Vomica has established itself as one of the most original and committed bands in San Francisco and has expanded its fan base around the world. Vomica is also in talks with WNPR’s Pacific Time, who has shown interest in the bands Cross-cultural aspect and is considering featuring them in one of their upcoming programs.
