The second, "Taperoá," came two years later. In the late '80s, Vital decided to stop recording for a while to focus on academics. In 2002 he produced the debut album of his daughter, Giovanna, with 15 compositions of his own and released the album "Vital Farias ao vivo e aos mortos vivos". That same year he received the title of Citizen of Rio de Janeiro.
