Village Green Machine is Warwickshire born singer/songwriter Mark Lemon. Working mostly in Birmingham, UK Mark plays live and records with various talented musicians. Having written hundreds of songs that were gathering dust, Village Green Machine was formed in 2008 as a new venture to release these songs to the world. England's Dreaming Spires is the début album for which Mark wrote all the songs and played most of the instruments. Working in a village hall using 1960's recording technology and instruments provides a unique retro sound often compared to the Kinks, and early Who Mark Lemon Said: 'Calling the music 'retro' means being proud of looking back, being unafraid of the retro label, while experimenting in every conceivable way with the past sounds. On my song Rollercoaster, for instance, I used trashy 60s pop sounds and made something new.

I encourage aspiring musicians to check out the sixties in more depth, creating from there. It is already beginning to happen'. Mark Lamarr played White Plastic Moccasins and Psychodrama on BBC Radio2 God's Jukebox and went on to invite the band for a full session that went on air at the end of January 09.
