Versives are Alan Matthews and Kevin J. Power, a two-piece electronica outfit from Cork, Ireland. After carefully crafting their sound over a series of EPs with producer Ciarán O’ Shea (ex-Cyclefly), Versives’ first single ‘Kicking Up a Brand New Storm’ was picked up by BBC Radio in the UK and led to a deal with Leeds-based independent label TAKEA!MF!RE, who are digitally releasing the band’s music in Britain. In Ireland, Versives have featured on TV3’s ‘The Apprentice’ (‘Bacstage Pass’ Best Unsigned Bands Compilation CD) and have appeared on the playlists of RTE 2FM (Dan Hegarty, Jenny Huston, Dave Fanning), Today FM (Paul McCloone) Phantom FM (Icon, Cathal Funge) as well as stations in Cork (96FM, Red FM), Limerick (Live 95), Waterford (WLR, Beat FM) and Galway, featured on as well as touring nationwide with an intense, sharp live show. Versives’ new single, ‘Two Enemies’ takes the big beats down a notch or two from ‘Kicking’, with a fragile, Mark Linkous-style vocal easing the electronics along before gently peaking with some sumptuous keys. ‘Two Enemies’, and the remixed b-side of ‘All in Arrival’ is a taster of what is to come from Versives’ debut album “Prussian Blushes”, scheduled for release in early 2012. “Yet another revelation to emerge practically fully-formed from a currently thriving Cork scene, Versives are an electronic outfit with a distinctively warm and hugging sound. Two Enemies is a short yet stupendously convincing teaser of real magic in works.” - AU Magazine “To our ears, this is Versives’ best look yet: mysterious, earthy and doused in otherworldly charm.” - Hotpress “Imagine Keane were given an electronic sample desk.

. . and some talent, and you would have Versives” - Spoonfed.co.uk “A live set brilliantly stripped down from the grandeur of their recorded material showing how tight they are as a musical unit and as musicians individually” - Drop-D.ie Read more on Last.fm.
