The band started back in 2002 as a punk band called Stuck Up Vacunts because of their vacant minds and mohican hair do's, with Porno (lead guitar in punk band Flint) on vocals, Mitsos from Greece on drums, Costas aka Elfy Bastard from Elf, Goon Cut Babies (Australia) on bass, Max Penatration (Porno's brother) on guitar, Byron aka Skid Wierd on lead guitar and Porno's ex girlfriend Pretty Vacunt on backing vocals . Then came a change with Costas (half Greek) on backing vocals and Zack ( from Greece) on bass . At this time the band was almost half Greek! Later came Rick Sick (ex-Sick Boy Federation) on guitar. After 2 cd's, a track on a compilation album in Brazil and another getting good plays on Greek pirate radio and a few gigs, the band split up after Byron and Zack left .A few months later Porno and Mitsos were in London and were thinking about starting up again with a different name so their friend Flash came up with the new name as they were sat on a bench in Camden Market. They went back up to York and Urban Scum was born. Getting a new bass player called Smell (who is now the singer for Comply Or Die), the sound of the band changed to more Oi! along with the lyrics. In 2004 the band recorded a demo called Violent Disease and had a few gigs in the UK and a tour in Greece.

In 2005 a "Best Of" album was released called Yorkshire Drinking Crew. Mitso and Smell left soon afterwards, then came Nieal on drums for a bit and Jim Quinn on Bass, but now its Fi on drums, Jammie on bass, Coz on guitar and Byron on lead guitar / keys and Porno on vocals. Urban Scum have an album called A CLOCKWORK TIME. The album was initially released by Stivaletti Records and OigreekOi.com Records in Europe. After working really hard for months on the album the band played some gigs around England in 2008 including the Rebellion Festival in Blackpool where they sold out of all their merchandising, including 4 t-shirt designs cd's and badges and had an amazing crowd watching them. The album was classed as ''bouncing oi punk'' by N.M.E.

Towards the end of 2008 Urban Scum started recording their second official album (Droog Adiction) which will be out Summer 2009 and also recorded another couple of tunes to go out in Greece on the first Oi! compilation album in Greece. Mitsos (the original drummer) came back to England for a month to do some guest vocals in Greek alongside Porno for the new trax. Early 2009 the band played Punks Alive Festival in Birmingham. The band are doing a tour in Italy starting on 22nd June and they will be recording a song together with an Italian band Brutti e Ignoranti. It will be sung in Italian and English. Urban Scum are doing a mini tour in England as well and are playing alongside Peter and the Test Tube Babies in April and a few festivals throughout 2009.

The album "A ClockWork Time" is now distributed by CONFIDENTIAL RECORDS (UK) Ltd worldwide through iTunes. They are a good tight group keeping Oi alive everything you want is on their myspace site.
