The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Wind Symphony is dedicated to the performance of the finest traditional and contemporary wind band literature. This ensemble, which is open to university students by audition, provides members the opportunity to broaden performance and teaching skills by experiencing exemplary literature at the highest level. The Wind Symphony performs at least two concerts each semester and participates on an annual concert tour. The Wind Symphony has performed at the MENC Biennial National Conference (2008), College Band Directors National Association - North Central Division Professional Conference (2008), Wisconsin State Music Conference (2003, 2001), Illinois Music Educators Association All-State Convention (2004), and the National Band Association - Wisconsin Chapter State Convention (2002). Recent guest conductors and performers have included Dr.

Steve Peterson (guest conductor, Ithaca College), Dr. Kenneth Kroesche (guest conductor/euphonium, Oakland University), Brian Grivna (clarinet, University of Minnesota), Dr. Russel C. Mikkelson (guest conductor, The Ohio State University), James F.

Keene (guest conductor, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), and Frank L. Battisti (guest conductor, New England Conservatory). The Wind Symphony also frequently records for music publishers including Daehn Publications and JPM Music. Read more on Last.fm.
