The band then felt that they have a social responsibility to fulfill --- to let the people know about their rights against any abuse and to inform them about what is really happening to society. To fulfill that responsibility, they wrote songs on social issues. As years passed, 1994 became a fruitful year for the band. They made their first independent album under Backdoor Records which was recorded in one of their gigs. In 1997, they started their first major label album with Eraserheads’ Ely Buendia as producer under Star Records.
It was in March 31, 1998 when they launched their first major, self-titled album through a show in ABS-CBN Channel 2 called "The Jerks Jam." The NU107 Rock Awards 1998 for Best Album went to the band’s first album, while the 1998 Katha Music Awards named "Rage," one of the songs in the album, as the Best Rock Song of the Year.
