The Idiot Rate are a Liverpoolian post-hardcore rock band. Concidering only playing their first show on December 22nd 2005, since then a lot has happened in a relatively short period of time. The band formed when previous bands collapsed in parallel and left all four members bandless and looking for something solid to put their time and efforts into. The Idiot Rate are a Liverpoolian post-hardcore rock band. Concidering only playing their first show on December 22nd 2005, since then a lot has happened in a relatively short period of time. The band formed when previous bands collapsed in parallel and left all four members bandless and looking for something solid to put their time and efforts into. It had to be something special to be worthwhile, music was our lives and without it we were hungry to get back on stage and express ourselves. Going into a dark Liverpool rehearsal studio at weekends yielded some pretty cool ideas and we decided it was worth a shot... By their fourth show they were supporting Stateside heroes Still Remains, which was followed by a string of shows with big names including Sikth, Bring Me The Horizon, Azriel, Architects, Fei Comodo and Exit Ten.

And all this before even putting out a demo. Now playing around the country and have recently released their self-financed and self-created EP (with Mike taking on producing/engineering duties) on July 29th, the future looks bright, with their first UK tour pencilled in for September this year.
