The Flaming Vinstons

The Flaming Vinstons formed in the early days of 2006. Vocalist Adron was looking for a musical release. He met up with Crazy Lee Wong (Emo Asian) and they started to think of band names. They decided to settle for "The Flaming Vinstons", instead of their original idea, "Vinston 4 boys", because although he was going to start a band with 4 boys, he thought it sounded wrong.

Lee Wong thought it was right, but being Asian, his thoughts don't count. The band staged auditions, and was united with drummer, Billy Joe, a Graphic Designer with an alcohol issue. "I was drunk at the time, I don't even know how to beat my wife when i am sober" says Billy. They also found guitarist, Randy The Man, who was living off the dole at the time. He brought along his sister, Angela Moore, an aspiring pianist, and this made the 5 complete.

Except it is really 4, because Asians don't count. The Flaming Vinstons started writing songs for their debut album, "Yes, I look like Michael Jackson", and went into studio not long after. "We really suck, but you can't complain with Asia" stated Randy. Their first single, "I like Gerarg" didn't even mee the charts standards, and, well sucked. But the band continued playing shows and growing their underground reputation as the newest sound to come out of Australia, recruiting an M.C.

named Jadam along the way. Not long after the release of their first record, The Flaming Vinstons set off on a world tour, playing shows on every continent excluding Antartica. Right before their final leg of the tour in Australia, tragedy struck the band when their tour bus crashed while driving in New Zealand, leading to the death of their keyboardist Angela Moore. "This left us devastated" said Adron in a recent interview. "The only thing that pulled us through it was the abuse we targeted at Lee Wong.

It really helped take our mind off of it." In late 2006, the band recorded songs for a new album entitled Bike Shop Circus. When asked about the meaning of the album and the bizarre title, Randy stated, "With the addition of Jadam, a lot of crazy shit has happened. Think of it this way, everybody likes a circus, right? Everybody loves bikes, right? Why not combine the two into a shop and market it to the world?" Bike Shop Circus is out now on Black Box Records. Read more on Last.fm.
