But more often than not , these days, it's power poptastic hooks that the Fawns deliver. Aromas of shimmering reverbed guitars, spunky new wave flavors and boy/girl pop-bounce all blend into the mix. Members of The Fawns have collaborated with and/or recorded with such luminaries as Mark Mulcahy (Miracle Legion), Chris Collingwood (Fountains of Wayne), Lloyd Cole, Joe Pernice (Scud Mountains Boys, The Pernice Brothers) and Pedro the Lion. Members of The Fawns have shared the stage with: Juliana Hatfield, Evan Dando, Robyn Hitchcock, Freedy Johnston, Fountains of Wayne, Essex Green, Mates of State, Martin Sexton, Ivy, Of Montreal, and J. Mascis among others. There is also a little known but not forgotten 1960's Philadelphia girl-group called the Fawns that recorded for the Cap City record label.
