The Fading Glory
On their recent release, there is also a strong influence of the German languages. The music is an attempt of the artists to channel the cultural and social developments in North-European society through music and comment on them. The music can be seen as a collection, a collage if you will, of comments, answers, rants and raves sparked by the daily confrontation with the things and people around the artists. From tracks such as "Vegetariërs Zijn Kut" exposing the immeasurable shittyness of vegetarians and the principles and ideologies behind it, to the liberal spirit that changes the way people interact with each other that is shown in "Mark Zoent Met Jongens". The use of the language is no longer seen as an instrument of poetic caliber, but used much more as a way to insult everybody within a 10 mile radius. The Fading Glory have finished working on their new release called "De Fiets Zonder Zadel EP", which features the unreleased track "Stralingsverbranding" and several acoustic tracks amongst which an acoustic version of "Vegetariërs Zijn Kut (Akoestisch)". More recently, the duo has changed musical style into the direction of 80's Italo Disco. Although there remains some discussion to if this move was planned - and even if the result can be labelled 'Italo Disco' as such - it is definitely a different kind of music. The upcoming "Italo EP" is as of time of writing (late october 2008) still in production, but one track has been released already to satisfy growing demand for new material by friends and foes alike.
