A progressive post-metal group formed in Pittsburgh, PA in 2010 headed solely by two people (Dan Curhan and Alejandro Reyes) who handle all of the compositions and recordings. Their music forges the elements of technical death metal insanity and the fervent intensity of sludge with the cinematic subtleties of post-rock and jazz along with touches of electronica and classical music to construct complex and powerful listening experiences unlike any other. The Dyatlov Pass Incident refers to a mysterious event in the Ural mountains that resulted in the death of 9 skiers. Their tent was found ripped from the inside and the skiers were found barefoot and frozen in the snow. Formed in late 2009 and headed mainly by Kassius and Jussius the project develops allowing several different individuals to participate. The music can be characterized as calm, instrumental and minimalist progress of multiple sounds.
