The Ducks


There are at least three bands named The Ducks: (1) The Ducks were a short-lived hard rock supergroup formed in the July of 1977 by singer-songwriter Jeff Blackburn, and consisted of musicians Bob Mosley (an original member of Moby Grape), Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young, and Johnny Craviotto. The band played around the Santa Cruz area due to contractual limitations. Eventually the national media was informed that Neil Young had joined a local band. Read more on Last.fm

His fans flooded the concerts, leading to Young's departure and the breakup of the group.

There are two known recordings of full shows by The Ducks; one on August 22 at The Catalyst Nightclub, the other on September 2 at the Civic Auditorium, which was the last show by The Ducks. (2) The Ducks are a noisecore group from Brisbane, Australia, featuring past members of John Lee Spider. (3) The Ducks were a power pop band, who later recorded as The Thornbirds.
