The Dirge Carolers are a dark rock band formed in 1995 by singer/songwriter Chris Harnois and is based in south-eastern Massachusetts. Not satisfied with the local music being labeled as goth at the time, Chris started putting some songs together in the vein of Fields of the Nephilim, Joy Division and Bauhaus. Getting together with guitarist Gaimon Addams, bass player Lisa Brangeforte and drummer Jimmy Reject, the group planned to start gigging in the Boston area. Guitarist Addams left the band right at the start to form the Mere Mortal record label.

He was quickly replaced with Rob Papagno and with this line-up they gigged throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island as well as recording a self-titled four song demo EP. Pappagno was next to leave opening the guitarist spot to a long string of players. When drummer Reject left to play in the Punk band "Dime-store Halos" he was to be replaced with a drum machine. A few more self released ep's were completed over the next few years but the ever-changing line up kept the bands progress slow.

In 2005 journalist Mick Mercer gave a favorable review to their self-recorded, self-released ep "I Tied My Own Tie Today". The band is currently signed to independent record label Triforium Records with their release "Ornithronos". The Line-up consists of Peter N. on Guitar, Heather N.

on Keyboards, bass and sax and Chris Harnois on Lead Vocals, bass, Kazoo and drum programming. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
