The Champion Theory

The Champion Theory originally started as a solo project by Damon Fischio in the fall of 2008. While attending Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, he wrote songs and performed acoustic shows around the local area. After returning home to North Ogden, Utah from a year of school, Damon contacted Quin Dixon, whom he had previously performed with, and asked him to come rehearse with him. After a few jam sessions, Damon decided to turn the solo project into a full member band, as he said, "Playing with a full band is just too fun." They approached Damon's little brother, Kelby Fischio, to play bass and their friend, Trevor Nelson, to play guitar. It was then agreed that The Champion Theory would be heading in a new musical direction than it originally was. After writing music and perfoming shows for two months, The Champion Theory approached Dark Sun Recoring Studios for help in producing their first CD.

After a few more weeks of planning and performing, Trevor decided it was best that he depart from the band as he progressed further into his medical career. With no hard feelings and the band wishing him the best, Trevor finished playing the rest of the shows that the band had scheduled and went on his way. With three members remaining, the band decided to still pursue the recording of their debut EP while they searched for a new guitarist. The three members laid down all the music tracks on their own and did the initial panning for the CD art, duplication, and printing. The album's release date was scheduled for August 21, 2009. After lots of advertising for the member opening and a few auditions, the band welcomed Preston Lasater into The Champion Theory on August 3, 2009. With the member slots back on track, the band has once again started lots of practicing and writing new music.

The young group's talent and potential is leading them into an exciting path in the music scene, including a potential full length album in the making. The bands newest style has transversed to a heavy-beated post hardcore rock that has grabbed many ears' attention. Read more on Last.fm.
