The Blastronauts is an Dance Hip-hop duo, formed by Miles Wray and Drew Tekulve in early 2009. It began as an idea by both of them in those late months of 2008. A heavy emphasis of space and the cosmos was discussed, and after many attempts to a name, The Blastronauts was born. Both Wray and Tekulve attended the same high school together, and much was discussed in between classes and during Calculus, where they both sat next to each other. Tekulve, having been the sole founder, performer, and producer of Dsu and Majeur Four, both of which were highly influenced by electronic music from the past and present, expressed much interest into this project.

Tekulve had produced some songs for the project and sent them to Wray via email. The first single the two produced together was West Coast, which had a heavy emphasis on modern day electro/dance music. Tekulve and Wray continued to produce other songs like Robot Blues, Blast It, Space Phantoms, and Enter Protagonist. The final song that was released by them was Ready, Set, Flow. After this song, both of them agreed to put The Blastronauts on hold as they moved out to attend college.

Drew Tekulve currently is attending Brigham Young University and Miles Wray is attending Biola University. However, with this hiatus, both Tekulve and Wray have confirmed to further produce and record songs when they return for winter break in December. Read more on Last.fm.
