The Adam Brown

For a year, Adam Brown (ex-Durangos) holed himself up in his basement, recording what would become his debut release, 'Even the Skies are Blue.' Upon completion of the album, he managed to gather a rag-tag bunch of local musicians, friends, gentlemen and scholars to properly translate his songs to the live setting. However, teaching said members how to play mouth trumpet, slide guitar and face-melting guitar solos proved tougher than expected. Luckily, failure turned to victory, or at least that's how they now choose to see it. Pages and pages of pie charts, blue prints and schematics could not be denied: The Adam Brown -- the newly formed group focusing on all-new material -- had undeniable musical chemistry and knee-shaking good tunes.

The band name was simultaneously chosen to honour The Adam Brown, a 19th century locomotive that used to travel through the woods of the B.C. interior, and to represent the train-like speed and power that defines the band in a live setting. Only weeks later did the (rest of the) band realize that the name of the train was in fact the name of their singer. They were assured that the "coincidence" had nothing to do with boosting his ego.

Since forming, The Adam Brown has forced literally dozens of crowd members to let loose with "evangelical indie rock jazzhands." Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
