Tevana 3 is a Finnish metal band performing metal music with electric kantele. Their "Mieron tiellä" album may be the first metal album ever in which electric guitar is completely replaced with electric kantele! Members: Juha Jyrkäs - throat-singing, vocals, 15- and 12-stringed electric kantele, percussions Aslak Tolonen - bass Janne Väätäinen - drums Tevana 3 started as Juha Jyrkäs (Jyrkäs, Poropetra, lyric writer of Korpiklaani) was doing his first solo demo with Aslak Tolonen (Nest, Syven). After the demo was out, Juha wrote new songs with electric kantele; they became more and more dark metal oriented, as his solo project is more of traditional heavy metal & hard rock. Thus he found the new band with Aslak Tolonen.

Soon the drummer Janne Väätäinen (Auringon hauta, Häive) joined and they started to make their first album, "Mieron tiellä". Musical style of Tevana 3 mixes together the elements from the early 80's black metal, specially from Celtic Frost, but also from doom metal, dark metal, early 90's Norwegian black metal and also something from psychedelic rock. The more exact and specific genre definition shall be left to a listener to decide. The lyrics are mix of the ancient Finnish Kalevala-metre and modern poetic styles.

There's also three songs written in Karelian - the Finnic language related to Finnish: "Koprat" (Grabbing the Ache), "Poloine poiga" (Poor Boy) and "Ristikanzu" (People). "Mieron tiellä" album is available from following record shops: Levykauppa Äx KVLT Stupido-Shop Keltainen Jäänsärkijä Popparienkeli Digelius Music The CD is also available from the band itself, with 10 euros, by sending e-mail to an address poropetra ät gmail dot com.
