Tears of Aske formed in the early part of 2002 and quickly built up a reputation for playing in your face, aggressive, groove fuelled metal. With an increasing fan base it was time to take the first trip into the studio. The resulting songs include the full on musical assault that is “Monster” and the metalcore groove of “Desperation” which appeared on the “kill your management vol 5” cd. This more than satisfied the already growing fan base and led to more mainstream recognition resulting in gigs at The Underworld and The Mean Fiddler.

Later recordings such as “I Will Remain” and “Multi Story Mother Fucker” showcased a sludge/stoner style of metal which was even more well received and lead to trips to the Brighton Engine room and the main stage at Stokes Godless fest 4. Press Kill Your Management volume 5 album “I thought TEARS OF ASKE were going to be a black or death metal band with a name like that, but they have hints of an oddly squarked sludge vocal in the vein of Cavity or Grief mixed with nu metal thrashings and parts that reminde me of the mighty Gutworm, featuring a very cool groove section.” Paul - Raw Nerve Promotions Demo..2 “Fucking wicked”- Ben Crudgington - Terrorizer magazine Headline slot ,The Underworld 29/01/05 “The name TEARS OF ASKE suggested black metal to but the headliners actually produce a fearsome noise that is part sludge and part metalcore.

It’s a mixture of in your face aggression and some huge bastard groovy riffs.” Chris Kee -Zero Tolerance magazine Fear Candy 18 CD, unsigned edition “TEARS OF ASKE could be the nasty, inbred, trailer park-dwelling cousins of Black Label Society. Multi Story Mother Fucker is a blues-fused rollicking metal ride through deepest deliverance country.” Ben Crudgington -Terrorizer magazine Read more on Last.fm.
