Band Members: Basem: Solo, Rhythm Guitar Majdi: Bass Guitar Tarik: Rhythm Guitar Gago:Vocalist Zizo:Drummer After quitting a band project with other guys in Benghazi-Libya in 1998, Basem and Majdi started the band Tasnim which was – musically speaking – kind of an amalgamation between Death-Metal and Middle Eastern/ North African music. The idea that Basem had in mind was to create something melodic, powerful and representing the culture they come from. The subject matter of their lyrics sounds aggressively political most of the time, but they stated that they have their own open tolerant mind.

By the year 2000, Tasnim (as Basem, Majdi, Tarek and Gago) became the most influential metal band in Libya. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
