We’re bummed. But YUSS, there’s some good tunes out there for when, whether from the rain in the sky or the drops in your eyes, you’re bummed and you don’t much wanna put on the apron and the heavy gloves and work the anvil all day. And we’ve got a sneaking suspicion that some pretty good clockwork in that vein is on its way from the wickedly non-Jannisary using kids in the Slovak Republic. That’s right, the band once known as Slovak Girl is hunkering down in bassist Steve Christensen’s home studio to do some mixing on their forthcoming LP. The not yet titled but potentially named “Slovak Girl” full length was recorded in both a Midtown home-studio and at Sugarhill (and we’re told it may even include some old 4-track recordings from way back in the day) over the past few years."
