Listening to them makes me want to wear wildflowers in my hair and wish for summer. Their track 'Aeronautique' (released on their EP from last year) sounds like a long-lost track from The Mamas & The Papas, while "Into The Light" sounds more like a female-fronted version of The Yardbirds. Look out for their sweet pop track, 'Better Side of Life', on an upcoming Emitt Rhodes tribute album. Listen to them yourself over at their myspace. The harmonies were fabulous and I was really digging the funky undertones of some songs and the rock and roll feel of the others. The lead singer slash drummer Cheryl has an amazing voice and even though it was early and people definitely weren’t drunk yet, they somehow got the crowd moving." lucyluvphotography.com "Like a vision from a fairytale: SILVER PHIAL Hey, there, wanna lighten up? I defy you to hold on to that existential angst once the sound of Silver Phial wafts your way. "Aeronautique" (from their ep released last year) is my favorite example: I put this song on and it’s an instant mood lifter.
It’s like some Victorian vintage fantasy flying machine powered by the sweet side of sixties psychedelia. Lead vocalist Cheryl sings sweet n clear while sitting behind the drum kit providing the propulsion for the band, flanked by Patrick and Scott on guitar and bass. A trio whose power is in the tasteful understatement of it’s unobtrusive arrangements: cool classic pop music for dancing or dreaming." labuzzblog.com Read more on Last.fm.
