The name came about when they were described as 'sounding like Madball but shit' A few months later Shitball went back into the studio to record their 2nd LP 'When I look at you I feel like I wanna die'. A music video for the track 'Suit twats go mad' was made by director Zorg Traveller who alongside Tommy Concrete played in electronic punk band Dog Muck. Shitball were expanded to a three piece with Matt Dennet joining the band on bass & vocals. To celebrate this, Shitball recorded their 3rd LP 'The day I stopped liking metal was the day Shitball sold out' this LP was mainly tracks from 'Mutronic Booboo' re-recorded plus a few new ones. At the end of the year Shitball and played their debut gig.
Zorg Traveller also directed a video for the track 'Mouf but foughts' In 1997 Shitball recorded 'The hot summer breeze gives me the nuts of a wild boars' which was the first LP with Matt Dennet contributing. This led to the music gaining a traditional heavy metal element to the grind/hardcore basis. At the end of the year Shitball recorded their 5th LP, namely 'It's beyond scooping Matthew'. Shitball also played a few rare gigs.
1998 began with 'Jar of shit' which was the ill fated acoustic LP. Matt Dennet does not feature on this because he was deemed too heavy metal. Shitball returned to their hardcore roots in 1999 with 'You can't even do it wrong right'. It also heralded the return of Matt Dennet.
In 2002 Shitball recorded the classic 'Too many titles not enough songs'. This LP came with a making of documentary 'It's not fucked it's just shit' & a video for the track 'I was going to buy an acoustic guitar but got engaged instead' directed by Tommy Concrete. The LP was a return to the grind roots with 6 songs being under 30 seconds and 13 songs less than a minute. In 2006 Shitball recorded the 10th LP and 10th anniversary. The LP was a return to the heavy metal roots of heavy metal itself, namely Gustav Holst & his Planets Suite.
So Shitball recorded their 'Planets Suite' which included the 10 part 'Planets Suite' which was made into an animated film by Tommy Concrete called 'The Planets Suite'. A music video for the track 'Babby's got a deep voice' also appeared. Matt Dennet does not appear on 'The Planets Suite' as the production was deemed so good by the band that the LP could have been interperated as being a sell out, so to reduce the quality Shitball purposefully handicapped themselves and threw Matt Dennet out of the band for the duration of recording the LP. The front cover is a picture of a shit done by The Destroyer, drummer for Conquest of Steel in the sink of Tommy Concrete.
In the summer Shitball played a few gigs and the Hull Spudstock & Edinburgh Mayhem with Matt Dennet on bass. In January 2008 Shitball recorded the live LP 'Live at least' in Bannermans Edinburgh, engineered by Stuart Gordon of The Tyrant Lizard Kings. This features tracks from all 10 LP's. Shitball were due to appear at The Mayhem festival in Edinburgh, but neither Matt Dennet nor Gareth baker could do it. So Tommy Concrete appeared with his bandmates Lewis Hush & Soo C Diamond from Man of the Hour and played under the name 'The New Original Shitball' Shitball attempted their 12th LP in 2009 but split up instead.
In 2011 Wasted State Records digitally re-released 'The Hot Summer Breeze Gives Me The Nuts Of A Wild Boars' & 'Too Many Titles Not Enough Songs'.
