Shane’s singing and songwriting was heavily influenced by the soulful country singers whose pain and joy was so evident in every song they sang – Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard and Alan Jackson. Shane began singing publicly at solo acoustic shows, testing out the songs he had written by looking the audience in the eyes and watching the reactions on their faces. Here he honed his songwriting skills and his ability to connect with an audience, one person at a time. When he moved to bigger stages, Shane remembered the entertainers he had admired as a child – Hank Williams, Jr., Garth Brooks, and Chris LeDoux. Shane’s goal on stage is to put on a high energy show and bring everyone to their feet – all while sticking to his roots and “not doing anything my Grandmother wouldn’t approve of.” Shane’s debut album was released on June of 2008 – and Shane wrote every song on the album.
The mix of tunes is a reflection of all of his influences – modern, edgy declarations of love, soulful ballads, cowboy honesty, and high energy, boot kickin’ anthems. And because they all came from his heart, his rich baritone voice brings them all to life. Wherever this journey takes him, Shane is ready. “All I can do is put myself out there – the real me, with no filters or additives. I think people know an honest song when they hear it.” Read more on Last.fm.
