Shadow of Myself
Shadow of Myself
Once the line-up was complete it was time to hit the practice room. After time spent in the band room and finally finishing up time in the studio on their financially self supported debut full length album insomnia. It is now time to get on the road and let the nation hear what Shadow of Myself brings to the industry. Towards the end of 2007 and all of 2008, the band toured locally gaining an intense popularity within the local music scene, as well as a huge underground following. Now that 2009 is upon them, the guys decided to pack up and take it on the road.
With the debut album insomnia produced and recorded by Cordova sound (A Staind Glass Romance, The Escape Artist, Armored in Grace) beginning to come together with a tentative release date for summer 2009, it just seems only fitting that the sleep without rest tour kicks off in support of the album. While being interviewed vocalist Travis Keziah had this to say about the impact of MySpace on the music industry “We just started hitting MySpace hard because we finally have the album done and coming out, we are adding more and more friends every day. Just trying to take the world by storm we are just a self funded band that does this for the love of music and maybe being able to hit the heart of just one fan. MySpace gives unknown bands that edge to get out there and influence the world.” With influences that include such bands as Hinder, Three Days Grace, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Incubus, Saving Abel, Bayside, Hawthorne Heights and Escape the Fate the musical possibilities are endless. Shadow of Myself is a force to be reckoned with and their debut album "insomnia” will make Shadow of Myself a favorite in this musical movement. It was once said that pain is temporary but pride is forever.
The guys take that saying to heart. There writing style is influenced and refelcts life experiences, and conveys an attitude towards the everyday way of life. Filled with gains, losses, heartache, and pure passion; this group tells it from a first person perspective. The road has not been easy, after all what's the good of pleasure without the pain.
