Baxter than spent another two years playing and learning new material 7 hours a day. While Massey was still in his old band Scarletine he started to Jam regularly on weekends with his University buddy Deline Samaka. "we'd spend hours just standin' there and makin' endlessly long guitar solos and not get bored (laughs)" says Massey. Then it wasn't till one Sunday afternoon (almost a month after leaving his old band) that Samaka showed Baxter this amazing guitar riff for this soon to be a hit song "unknown" that Massey suggested to Samaka that it's about time to start a new band. "I had at least ten new songs written so I went to my car pulled out these pages with lyrics and picked this song (Unknown) and started to lay free style vocals on the riff that Samaka had come up with" says Baxter.
Soon they realised that this song just sounded “freakin' good” and needed to get out to the people. Massey and Samaka soon had this opportunity through The We Rock Club and went on and did a show of three songs Unknown, Talk To Me, and a cover of New Rose off the GN'R Spaghetti Incident just on two guitars. The crowd response was unbelievable. Jason Delrio was the next to join the band, recurited for his lyrical abilities and so Massey could focus on guitar. Gear Massey uses Gibson SG six-string guitar plugged in through a Marshall half-stack 100 W MG head and 4 X 12 cab, this set up is then run through a Jim Dunlop Crybaby Wah. Samaka uses Ibanez six-string plugged in through a Peavey amplifier.
Weir uses a Cort four-string action bass with Rotosound strings through an Ibanez amplifier. Glen uses 4 piece vintage red Pearl Export Series, Paiste Cymbals, Remo and Aquarian Heads, Preferred Pro-Mark or Ahead Sticks. Discography The Shadow Dreams EP is currently in production.
