They have gone through a number of drummers including Nazih Ammouche, Zein Mehrez and Anthony Fazio, but have picked up Gareth Wilkinson. In 2007 the band was playing various covers such as Tore Down by Eric Clapton, and Day Tripper by The Beatles in its lineup of Nazih Ammouche on Drums, Cameron Brown on Guitar and Jory Dixson on Bass. In 2008 the group's lineup changed to Cameron Brown on Guitar, Jory Dixson on Bass, Zein Mehrez on Drums and Nazih Ammouche on Percussion, just like in 2007 they played various cover songs and in late 2008 Anthony Fazio took over drumming, Ammouche left and Jake Cammilleri played Rythm Guitar and late that year an EP called Spare Me was recorded, but wouldn't be released until August of 2010. In 2009, the group remained rather stagnant, not recording or playing anything but have slowly come back in 2010, practicing new material, and getting ready to come back, with new drummer Gareth Wilkinson. A Vocalist has always alluded Settling Decay, with Jory having to sing on the song Spare Me. Settling Decay's sound started off as Alternative Rock/Post-Grunge, but as time has gone on, their sound has evolved, becoming heavier and faster, making them more Metal. Settling Decay's influences range from Nirvana to Killswitch Engage, from Metallica to Sevendust.
