The band decided to take a break and focus on their side project 'Venereal Battalion' which contained the same two members as Sellorape. Venereal Battalion was a black metal band, where both band members could experiment freely, however little in the way of music was produced, so mid way through 2007 the band decided to reform Sellorape and begin the process of producing a new album. The project became known as 'Festering Cunt Ov Mary', a 14 track album which showed a lot of emotion that fans of the band had not seen before, it was a surprising turn but also a welcomed one as the bands music had obviously developed after their break. The album contained such hits as 'Goulashed by my Mother' and 'Fag Ends'. The popularity of these songs, more so 'Goulashed by my Mother' led to the rumour that the band members created the term 'Goulashed' a term for a sexual act. The album was released to the public in mid November 07. In early December 07 the band decided to go back to a song they had pieced together during their time as Venereal Battalion, a small Demo tape, containing two songs; 'Cry from the Moonthrone' and 'A Black Skull from Jotenheim', it is the only recorded effort from Venereal Battalion and it laid the bands side project to rest. After the release of 'Festering Cunt Ov Mary' the band decided to collaborate for the first time in their fledging careers.
They teamed up with Neo Nazi-Industrial Rock artist, 'The 3rd Reich' (surprising English). On the evening of the 31st December 2007, the trio sat down and pieced ideas together for an EP. Soon the trio where so brimming with ideas that they felt they needed to begin recording straight away and so 'Womb Raiders' was born. 'Ambient waters' was the term used to describe the influence of 'The 3rd Reich' by Ekks Scremant in a off camera interview. The final track of the album was kept for an interview by 'Alex Findley', he interviewed the band as they spoke to the band and 'The Reich' who both talked about a mutual respect for each other.
The band spent part of the interview talking about their new influences such as Picasso and Maroon, both of which can be identified within the album. Another topic of the interview was butter and weather it came out of the udders of a cow salted, the band did not eventually settle on an answer, even after 'The Reich' mentioned Danish Lurpack as an example of an unsalted butter product. The album was completed at 5:08am on January 1st 2008 and is *unofficially* the first album to be released in 2008. The band felt a positive affect from the efforts of the 3rd Reich and his songwriting, ideas and vocal talents helped them produce 'one of our best albums to date'. What does the future hold for Sellorape? Well the band are looking to work on 'Neuteronomy' a new album to be produced at a later point this year (leaving 365 days for release). Read more on Last.fm.
