Sekrut $quirrel was a punk band in Lubbock, Texas, in the early/mid-1990s. It consisted of cDc's own Franken Gibe (vocals, harmonica), Mister Happy (guitar and bass, not the guy from Hacktivismo), Mohawk Dave (aka Xoph; guitar and bass), and Transderm Nitro (aka Tim; drums). He also recorded and produced their album. Sekrut $quirrel played their first show at a BBS luncheon (seriously, all of the local computer geeks used to gather monthly for lunch) in August of 1992 at the Hi-D-Ho, the same place where Buddy Holly was discovered. At that show, the name of the band was "Goiter Girlz + Tim" because Transderm didn't want to be called a girl. Most of the songs from their album also appear on Swingin' Muzak, a compilation of Lubbock punk bands that was released in 1993 by cDc. Read more on Last.fm.
