Samoth started out playing in the band Thou Shalt Suffer with fellow Emperor alum Ihsahn and black metal pioneer Ildjarn before forming Emperor with Ihsahn and Mortiis. Samoth played drums as well as guitar on the early recordings. After serving his prison sentence for arson, Samoth reached great success with Emperor, but also formed Zyklon with Emperor drummer Trym in order to explore a less symphonic avenue of black metal. After the demise of both Emperor and Zyklon, Samoth commenced a third project - The Wretched End. In addition to his three main bands, Samoth played on some seminal releases by various legendary Black Metal acts. He played for Burzum on the Aske, for Satyricon on the album The Shadowthrone and for Gorgoroth on the album Pentagram. Other noteable projects include playing in Arcturus, Scum and his short-lived Black Metal supergroup Zyklon-B as well as contributing vocals to some Ildjarn releases. 2) Samoth is a partyorganiser and liveproducer from Belgium. he organises along with friends, exit23 sound6tem parties and Madness in wonderland.
