Heidi Fardell, Kirsten Halliday recorders Occasional: Anna Parkitna Saltarello are two recorder players who specialise in music education and performance. They collaborate to deliver music workshops for various institutions, which have included Tate Britain and Trinity College of Music. Saltarello perform a wide range of music spanning medieval, renaissance, baroque and contemporary repertoires. They have performed at venues including Wilton’s Music Hall, Handel House Museum, the Royal Festival Hall and at Tate Britain for the Hans Holbein exhibition.

As individuals and as a duo, they have worked with contemporary musicians, artists, storytellers, poets and composers, working collaboratively and often having compositions written for them. Saltarello provide insight into less well known Early music from areas such as Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, whilst bringing a fresh approach to more well known works. They are passionate about delivering historically accurate music whilst promoting the recorder and its repertoire to new audiences. Sample Programme: The Scandinavian Connection: Works by Roman, Buxtehude, Agrell, Per Brant.
