Ruth is a singer-songwriter, heavily influenced musically in her early life by Sarah Vaughn and Mahalia Jackson. She grew up without singing a note until 1982. Since then, Ruth has performed ardently to lift up the name of Jesus. She has a dynamic expansive voice with a performance style that combines her love of all music, jazz and blues and resulting in Christian music with crossover appeal.

Ruth is as feisty, unconventional and outspoken as her unique sense of fashion and style. In the ultra-conservative atmosphere that often exists in the world of ministry, Ruth often surprises. A native of Texas, ex-resident of California and former world traveler, living in Germany, the Philippines, Puerto Rico and Japan, Ruth returned to Texas to finish raising her youngest son and officially launched her ministry of song at the funeral of a son who was fatally wounded in a tragic accident. Ruth entered the music and ministry scene in the mid-1980’s, where she established herself in the ministry of song in many styles ranging from rock to country to jazz to blues, going to many places most artists would shun, in order to answer the call of ministry.

Ruth did her first solo track and musical arrangement in 1988, with a version of Amazing Grace that is as innovative as it is ahead of its time, even today. In 1999, she produced and performed her first CD collection, Victory In Jesus: The Healing Voice of Ruth Greene, which was in distribution until 2002. She began writing songs with Holly Ly and later producing the CD, Love Is Divine in 2004. Ruth resides in Nashville where she is completing a three year book project and preparing for production of new CD.
