RUBBER KILLT , A White Musical Mess with Groove produces Aurally Seductive Film Scores This legendary Tribal Techno Punk band survives with a renewed enthusiasm, changed direction and spanking new tunes. RUBBER KILLT's founding member and song writer, Thor's strange trip began in Montreal under the band name Cherokee Haze in the mid 70's. Along comes 1978, with little success and absolutely no fan base, he quit his own band and dived into an obscure cover band called Jets. This was a really crappy name for an amazing band that played to huge outdoor festival, theater and arena crowds throughout the North East. Aside from playing a few of Thor's original songs, the band was basically a tribute to Queen, Styx and Boston. In 1980, after having found the Band's constant drug use, poverty and touring less than the perfect Rock n' Roll dream, Thor quit to form his own New Wave band, General Panic.

Truly original in musical style and one single critic's favorite band, General Panic was renowned for being fired from most clubs by the third song. Surprisingly it took almost four years of failure for the rest of the members to quit. The unstoppable, Thor whored himself out to many local Montreal bands and ended up playing bass for The Snipes by the mid 90's. Lots of tight original punk tunes, many cases of beer and very little actual practice helped The Snipes become one of Montreal's best and drunkest opening acts. Prior to this, in 1990, Thor created the L.A.Records Recording Facility as his personal musical pleasure chest and creative outlet. On the down side, Thor with best friend/engineer Ray of the Big House, had to deal with more than a few ungrateful, inexperienced snot nosed punks and the ever selfish local Record Labels.

It was still a great place to experiment and drink, plus some of the world's top musicians passed through the facility's doors or passed out in the porcelain sink. I digress. Rubber Killt was created as the L.A.Records Studio band and served as the live backup band to recording artists Jessica Ehrenworth and Cheryl McSomething Scottish. The Band's musical style went from classic country to heavy rock to alternative to old school Motown R&B. Never consistent in style but always evolving Rubber Killt changed members frequently (Mike Matulis, Andy Jameson, Roger Mann, Dave Devine, Dave Neil, Chris Joli, Doug Short, Sean Potvin, Rejean de Grand Maison and even a few really famous people provided the occasional guest appearances). By 2002, due to unforeseen circumstances, Thor found himself in Los Angeles hanging out with the likes of Dick Clark, Engelbert Humperdinck, P.

Ditty, John 5 and some other unknowns. Without his studio or band, Thor had at last found the land of cheap booze and loose women. Unfortunately this was also the place where talent gets little respect and music is just not something the folks around here pay for. Twas the time for Thor to sit on his sweet behind and never touch another guitar again ...

until this amazing misfit chick came into his life and kicked his fat lazy butt. Thus Thor in 2012, with a much slimmed down Rubber Killt, got out of his rocking chair to fight yet another freakin' day. Now 2015, and recently relocated to Springhill Nova Scotia, Thor once again tuned up his old trusty Gibson Firebird, strummed a chord and discovered, he's not quite dead yet. Read more on Last.fm.
